Which library resource or tool do you find most helpful? Why? 

I use Google Scholar as my go-to site for obtaining scholarly information. Sometimes, information can be found in the Belhaven Library; if you go into the Business Ebsco, advance search. However, the article in the Business Ebsco advance search is sometimes crowded with subjects that are close yet far from the information needed to extract valuable information. The Google Scholar website has begun to feature good articles but requires a purchase fee or your college sign-on, which does not give you access.

For what library resource or research activity would you like more focused training?

My problem when searching for scholarly references is not training but access to better websites. As previously mentioned, one of my go-to websites is Google Scholar. The most interesting articles now require access or purchase to use the information. Choosing an article and then discovering that the article of choice is not attainable is more of a teaser than a benefit. I have tried my Belhaven email, and nothing works.

The library resource ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global has proved to be helpful. This database comprises a comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses worldwide. It offers comprehensive coverage of academic research in a vast array of disciplines. The database contains millions of university dissertations and theses, providing access to various research topics and disciplines. This comprehensive coverage enables researchers to investigate a variety of subjects and acquire diverse perspectives.

Frequently, theses and dissertations result from original research conducted by academicians in their respective fields. These works provide researchers with in-depth analysis, methodologies, and findings that cannot be found in other sources. This level of research is advantageous for literature reviews, comparative studies, and gaining a deeper understanding of a specific topic. In addition, it contains both contemporary and historical works, allowing researchers to examine the evolution of knowledge over time. This function is proper for longitudinal studies or inquiries into the development of ideas in a particular field.

I desire more specialized training in market research to gain insights into consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscapes. Focused training in market research techniques can equip me to efficiently collect and analyze data, accurately interpret market trends, and formulate evidence-based strategic recommendations.
